
Today we had a picnic at Bartholomew's Cobble in Ashley Falls. It's a beautiful protected area on the Housatonic River. Rare ferns and unusual, dramatic rock formations are found here resulting from the last ice age.

We walked across a lush field that has been carved almost into an island by a great oxbow in the river.

Hannah wanted to touch a tired, fall monarch butterfly.

It was fun to see the view from Dad's shoulders!

Yep, she's growing like a weed.
