My Pumpkin

I've got a pumpkin! My neighbors Sue and Bobby grew it in their garden and brought it over to my house. It's my very first pumpkin!

It's big and round and cool on my hands..........

If you don't have a pumpkin you should definitely get one!!

Picnic at Bartholomew's Cobble

Today we had a picnic at Bartholomew's Cobble in Ashley Falls. It's a beautiful protected area on the Housatonic River. Rare ferns and unusual, dramatic rock formations are found here resulting from the last ice age.

We walked across a lush field that has been carved almost into an island by a great oxbow in the river.

Hannah wanted to touch a tired, fall monarch butterfly.

It was fun to see the view from Dad's shoulders!

Yep, she's growing like a weed.

Grandpa Eustice's Visit

Hannah's Grandpa Eustice came to visit in August. It was a very happy visit. Hannah thinks Grandpa's beard is very fun to pull on!

I loved seeing my Dad hold my daughter. That's how he must have held me when I was a baby! It seemed to come so naturally...... after all these years.

We love you, Grandpa!

Cape Cod Adventure

We finally made it to the ocean the weekend after Labor Day!!

We loaded up everything we own into the camper and set out looking for adventure.....

Hannah was a trooper. She was sprouting a tooth and sleep was not coming easily.... So, as the weather deteriorated with each passing day, so did our mental states....

Hannah had no idea that her parents had been reduced to yawning zombies...... every day is an adventure for her!!

We loved the beaches in Truro and P-town (Race Point). We saw harbor seals chasing bluefish up close by the shore!
Jim got to take the kyak out in the ocean.......... here is a link to clip of a not so graceful disembarkation he made..... tee hee........ http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k207/cyn3a/?action=view&current=capesat029-1.flv
